I cannot believe that it has already been two weeks since I was in Virginia! You may remember from my previous post that I just returned from my 24th birthday trip to Richmond, Virginia with my mom. While we did have a blast eating gourmet pizza, drinking Virginia wine and shopping in ‘open air’ malls (I didn’t even know that these existed!), this wasn’t the main focus for our trip. I went to have a one-on-one mentoring session with Katelyn James.
I was greeted with open arms by Katelyn, Michael and Bokeh, the cutest little fluff ball! Katelyn and I spent the morning talking about my business. There are SO many big and exciting changes coming to Kelsey Waterfield Photography, and I cannot wait to share them all!!
We met up for lunch with Kerri, a wedding photographer from New York. After our delicious Italian lunch, it was time to have our head shots taken! Katelyn took Kerri and I to a field off the side of the road, in the middle of the day. This is one of the worst times to shoot for photographers! I didn’t mind the sun, or the 35 degree weather since it was still snowing back home! Although, looking back through the photos from Katelyn, I
can see my skin getting more and more pink as the day went on. We finished our day in a parking garage. Yes, a parking garage. Who knew such pretty light could be hiding in those concrete walls!
I am so happy that I had the chance to meet both Katelyn and Kerri! After our day together, I feel even more encourage and inspired!
